TSS races to help Leighton Hospital’s young patients

TSS works closely with partners, so when General Manager Glen Bubb and Business and Projects Manager Sarah Tunstall attended Arriva Manchester’s recent ‘Stakeholder Day’, little did they know that a few weeks later they would be jointly gifting a fabulous Scalextric set to a worthy recipient.

The set was awarded to Sarah, who recorded the fastest lap time on the day, and after discussion with colleagues, Leighton Hospital’s Children’s department was chosen to receive the kit.

The race track was set up onsite by Arriva staff and has already proved to be a huge success with patients and their visitors. Helen White, Leighton Hospital’s Play Specialist, said “the children are already playing on it and looking forward to being able to play on it again when they come in for an operation so it's safe to say it's a big hit - so thank you very much again for thinking of us.”

Said Sarah:

“Our staff regularly support charitable causes so it was great to be able to find a good home for the Scalextric kit and know that it is providing a welcome distraction for everyone who plays with it. I hope they have as much fun as I did!”
