Six months after lockdown began, we started updating the timetable information at bus stops across Cheshire East. When everyone was told to ‘stay at home’ except for key workers, it had a devastating impact on the bus services which cover the borough.
With few fare paying passengers, emergency funding was introduced by the government to help them survive and continue to operate. Because of this there were many changes, with some services stopping altogether and others reducing their services.
It became impossible to keep the information at the roadside updated until November – however we still anticipate future disruption. When timetables are subject to change, we always recommend that passengers check directly with the operator for the most up to date information.
