New Beartown Bus service launched

Working in partnership with GHA Coaches, TSS staged a relaunch event for the popular Beartown service in March 2015 with key stakeholders.

Two new buses took to the roads, complete with 'fun and furry' liveries which were developed by Transport Service Solutions working closely with Suresigns and GHA Coaches. Built and finished to a high specification, the environmentally friendly buses have comfortable leather seats with embroidered Beartown headrest logos, free wifi, seat belts and passenger information screens onboard.

Working closely

TSS works closely with operators to target routes for investment, promoting bus use to increase passenger numbers which in turn reduces the amount of subsidy required to support each service, freeing up resources for other routes.

A roadshow was held in Congleton, the service was featured in local papers and the new timetable leaflet was door-dropped to 9,500 homes to encourage patronage. A new 'Bear Hug' group saver ticket was introduced and under 12s with teddy bears travelled free until the end of April.

As well as the Beartown buses, new GHA Gold standard buses were introduced on the 42 service from Congleton to Crewe.
